Consider the room you have
Ready for a new appliance? First, think about the general space that is or will be available in your kitchen. Many times, measuring your kitchen space will be enough to figure out how big or what type of appliance you should get. But, don't forget to give your measurements a bit of room, as you should also be considering how much space is needed around an appliance.

What size fridge freezer is right for me and how do I measure?
It's time for an upgrade. If you're looking to find the perfect fridge-freezer for your kitchen, looking over the following few questions will provide a good marker for what you should be looking for.

Consider what type of groceries you purchase
When it comes to fridge capacity, you should be realistic. How much food does your family consume each week? Is it mostly frozen goods or fresh produce? Assessing your average consumption as well as what types of groceries you purchase is a good way to find out how much storage and what type of storage space you'll need for your family.
- Household size : The most obvious factor to your capacity needs is the size of your household, namely, how many mouths there are to be fed at every meal.
- Grocery shopping habits : Depending on the size of your family, or the lack thereof, there are substantial differences in grocery shopping, food consumption and storage patterns.
- Frozen food / fresh produce : Depending on how you cook and what ingredients you use, the type of fridge and capacity will always prove more and more relevant in the long-run.

How to measure for a new fridge freezer
-
Width, Depth, Height : for exterior dimensions, it's important to factor in the more forgettable components, such as handles, doors and compartments when fully opened, any bulkiness in the back, etc. If you're positioning your fridge freezer next to a wall, leave 5-7cm on the hinge size of the door. If you're fitting beneath a counter or low ceiling, make sure to measure for the height as well.

Measure the delivery path
-
Don't forget about the delivery path. Numerous customers have reported having to return their purchased fridge freezers because they didn't fit inside their front door, elevators, or hallways. To prevent such unwanted returns, map out a route in advance that the fridge freezer has no problem passing through.
Ventilation space
-
When installing your fridge freezer, it's critical to factor in for ventilation space to make sure your fridge doesn't overheat. We recommend that you give 5-7cm of space on all sides, but make sure to give at least 2-3cm if you're tight in space.
Island kitchen
-
If you have an island kitchen, make sure that your fridge freezer is not obstructed by it at any point. Measure the dimensions of your fridge freezer in advance with all doors and compartments fully opened and compare to the actual space to prevent obstruction.
